SmartPhone Carriers could be Tracking you (Carrier IQ)

Recently quite a storm has been brewing amongst smartphone owners in regards to a smartphone tracker tidbit on their cellphones by the name of Carrier IQ. Verizon however has denied explicitly that there are no such things on any of their smartphones. I checked up on my Droid 2 just to be sure. If you are curious on how to check on your phone and forbid your wireless carrier from tracking you, the video below may be deemed quite helpful.

Steam Hacked, Personal Info at Someone Else’s Disposal

For those who are not aware, it was reported yesterday that Steam (the download-of-games-retailer giant) was hacked. At first sources said that it was the forums but then databases, including hashed passwords and encrypted credit card numbers as well as including usernames, passwords and billing addresses, were compromised.

“We do not have evidence that encrypted credit card numbers or personally identifying information were taken by the intruders, or that the protection on credit card numbers or passwords was cracked. We are still investigating,” informed Newell. “We don’t have evidence of credit card misuse at this time. Nonetheless you should watch your credit card activity and statements closely.”

I would suggest you change your account passwords at the least as well.

To all you non-haters of The Phantom Menace, it will return to (select) screens in “spectacular 3D.” They (Star Wars’ official site) say that Darth Maul returns and to commemorate that momentous occasion, Star Wars (the first one, which is actually the 4th one to have come out in the series), is going to be showing in 3D and 2D if you so wish.
